Questions
Do I need LabVIEW, DIAdem or any NI software?
No. The reader is written from the published TDMS format and runs in the browser tab. Nothing is installed.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Files are read by slices in your browser and never sent anywhere. The page's security policy only allows requests to this site, and you can check it: open the network tab of your browser, or disconnect from the network after the page has loaded. Details on the security page.
Which files does it open?
.tdms files, with their .tdms_index if you have one: every data type of the format except
DAQmx raw data, interleaved and big-endian files, and files truncated by a bench crash, read up to the point where
they stop. What cannot be read is named, with its segment.
How large can a file be?
A file is read by slices, never loaded whole. A 1 GB file opens in about 0.2 s on a MacBook Air M2, the largest measured so far.
Does it work on a test bench without internet?
Yes, after one visit with a connection: the application is then kept by the browser and works offline. A Pro license is checked offline too.
What does Pro add, and when?
Pro removes the limit of 5 files per table in Batch Extract. Every Batch Extract feature can be tried today on 5 files. Pro is not on sale yet: join the waiting list to get the early access offer.
Who makes it?
One developer in France, independent of National Instruments and Emerson. Questions and bug reports go to the address in the footer, and get an answer.
